Smartrider is the BEST driving school in Dutchess County. I tried other schools they do not compare or come close. Bob is excellent, very professional, patient and knowledgeable he gave me so many tips that came in handy on the day of the test. Trust me don't waste your time or money elsewhere, just go with Smartrider. I passed without a sweat, thank you very much indeed Bob, I am a better driver because of you!

I had my first ride on 2 wheels this week, and thanks to Michael's expertise, I acquired my license! I never imagined that I would learn so much and feel so comfortable maneuvering a motorcycle in just two days. While I have a lot more practice before putting my license to use, I am confident that the foundation of knowledge that I acquired this week has prepared me to be a safe rider. I highly recommend this class!! Michael is hilarious, smart, and makes everything about riding "make sense" so you don't forget it!!

I took a private class with Instructor Michael this evening. He was absolutely amazing and I had a wonderful time! And as I told him afterward.. I felt so incredibly safe and comfortable with him as my instructor. He was patient and incredibly knowledgeable. He used analogies that helped me completely understand what I needed to do. Great experience and I look forward to another lesson next week! Total thumbs up to Bob as well! He returns calls and texts within minutes which is extremely helpful!!! Love Smartrider MSP!!!

Just finished the Basic Riders Safety Course today. Fantastic class, fantastic instructor-Michael. He made it educational and fun. Learned so much, proud of what I have accomplished! Going to get some riding time in, then I'll be back for more!

My husband, a friend and I took the basic rider course with Roy & Maria. We had a great time and learned so much. The instructors are great and so helpful. It was worth every cent!!

This was a awesome class! I had bob & kaley as instructors and they were very knowledgeable and amazing! We had a fun time and learned some extra lil pointers. I am a 45 year old female who after moving to the Poughkeepsie area after a lifetime in Queens NY realized that I would need a driver's license here in Poughkeepsie since there was no mass transportation in this area. Originally I signed on with another driving school in the area that had an office listed in their home in Hopewell Junction NY, BIG MISTAKE! The instructor had absolutely NO patience and was rude AND, I couldn't visit their office since it was located in their home!. After doing 4 lessons with them and quickly realizing they were not for me did I find SmartRider Driving School in Poughkeepsie. This time I actually visited their office on Patrick Lane in Poughkeepsie to make sure it wasn't another business claiming to be a driving school operating out of a home office. I met with the owner, Bob and he showed me the license on the wall that SmartRider was indeed a certified driving school. After talking to Bob for a while I signed up for a 7 hour package that he offered. Well, now, on April 25th, I have my drivers license!

I can't thank Bob enough! his school provides old fashion customer service with RESULTS!!!

Just finished earlier today with Roy and Brian. What a fun way to spend a weekend learning the basics of motorcycle riding. Roy and Brian were truly great to say the least; they were beyond patient with everyone, they had the perfect demeanor and you will truly sense that they really want you to learn the proper way to ride!

I just wanted to say thanks to Smartrider Driving School, they got my son Jimmy through his driving test the first time. I am so glad they are offering lessons in the Suffern area now. I plan on telling all my friends.

 

My daughter had taken driver's education at her high school and quite frankly, got very little out of it. Being in a car with other students was just not a good fit for her. My neighbor told me about Smartrider driving school and how pleased they were with their experience there. Bob worked with my daughter for just 5 lessons and she passed her road test. She claims she learned more in 5 hours with Bob then she did in her entire high school course.

I highly recommend this school, they are professional, knowledgeable, and provide excellent customer service.

I had Brian and Roy as my coaches. They are both very patient and knowledgeable. The class was easy to understand. I was very nervous at first by as they teach you new skills your confidence grows a little. Love this class. Although it was over 3 hours away from my house in Syracuse, I took it because of my schedule. I would recommend anyone to go to this class...These coaches were great! Thanks guys!

Took the basic rider course in Poughkeepsie and have to say it was great!! Rider Coach Mike was top shelf!! He put the time and energy to teach all he could in two days. I have been riding dirt bikes for years and recently bought a road bike and thought it would be good to take the course to see if I could pick up a few pointers. Came away with some great riding skills and some new friends. I highly reccommend this course to anyone starting out you will get a lot of information and some important tips that could save your life while riding on the road. Bob and Greg were also top shelf teachers. Thanks to all of you for really caring about teaching this class right. This class should be mandatory by New York State for anyone who wants to ride a road bike. Thanks Again for Everthing, Vince

My son was enrolled in a driver education course at his school and we both felt he wasn't getting the attention he needed. After speaking to a few people it was recommended I call SmartRider Driving School for driving lessons for my son. In just five lessons my son felt he had learned more than he had in the entire school course he was taking. Thank you so much SmartRider, you run a top notch, professional driving school.

This motorcycle school program is amazing!!! Bob and the instructors are so wonderful and work with you to make sure you learn how to ride and be safe and pass your road test. I would never be able to ride and get my license if it wasn't for smartrider!! The best program ever!!! Highly recommend it to everyone who wants to learn to ride!!

Being someone who was never on a bike before taking this class, I can honestly say it was worth it. Bob is an excellent coach. They start off slow and build you up as the class goes on. I was comfortable as can be expected on a motorcycle once the class was over. I would recommend this program to anybody that wants to learn the right way to ride.

I just completed this coarse yesterday and it was great. My instructors were Brian and Roy and they were fantastic. They both were very patient with everyone, including those like me that were not as skilled as the rest of the class. Their teaching method was top notch, for example when one of us would make a mistake they would ask us what we did wrong instead of just telling us. This made me think about what I did wrong and how to improve. I believe this was much more helpful and will make it easier to remember what I learned. This coarse was one of the best investments you'll ever make.

Thanks to this course and great coaches that made riding a motorcycle as easy as ... Well riding a bike! Even if you're not planing to buy a bike any time soon this is a great weekend event that you will definitely enjoy and also learn a great skill. My coworkers got a tan this weekend, I learned how to ride a motorcycle... I think I win by a long shot!!! Make summer 2014 unforgettable, and take this course!!!

Michael and Kyle do a tremendous public service with the effort and passion they put in to each Motorcycle Safety Class. With each passing class, they make the roads safer for motorcyclists, pedestrians, and even those that choose to drive cars and trucks. The experience I had in the Basic Rider Course has-without a doubt-made me a better driver of my car, in addition to rider of my bike. As a college professor, I understand that teaching the same material several times can be dry for the instructor, making it boring for the class. Michael and Kyle could be a study in combatting that problem. Both are lively, interesting people that thoroughly enjoy what they do - and it shows! Rather than lecture in class, Michael facilitates a classroom discussion-interacting with the students, drawing them into the conversation, rather than letting them sit in "receive mode." The practical application is conducted using a craw-walk-run approach that make beginning riders comfortable and compentent, and allows riders with more experience to correct bad habits. Well done gentlemen! Thank you for your patience and your time - see you on the open road!

I took the class about 5 years ago and still to this day I practice all the safety routines that I learned from this class. There is countless times where I have avoided accidents because of what I have learned. When a friend of mine tells me they would like to learn how to ride, without hesitance I always tell them SmartRider is a must. You will learn how to prevent from getting into minor and possibly major accidents, at the same time having a great learning experience.

I just took the BRC in LaGrange over Memorial Day. I was a bit apprehensive towards riding since I had always wanted to ride but had never actually been on a motorcycle. My instructor, Michael, was great. He really made the class enjoyable and made all of us laugh a lot while teaching us valuable safety techniques (who ever knew that "layin' 'er down" was not recommended??)

This was a great class and I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to safely and correctly learn how to enjoy motorcycling!

I Just completed a two day Basic Rider Course for new and/ or inexperienced riders. Can't say enough good things about the training and more importantly the instructors. I had a rough idea of what to expect due to the fact that my brother is a long time bike enthusiast and had taken the course before. However, being new to the sport I was still very nervous. Bob was absolutely terrific. I received great positive feedback when I completed a rider task correctly and quality direction when I needed to improve on a task. Don't be afraid to make mistakes, they happen to eveyone. Bring a positive attitude, be willing to listen and take direction and you will be amazed how quickly things start to come together. I highly recommend Smart Rider to anyone interested in learning how to ride.

My class was great. I walked away feeling like I had the skills to practice safely. I also had a private lesson for 2 hours two weeks after my class and that was an fabulous experience. Both the class and the lesson were money well spent

I had a brilliant time. Our instructors, 'Ace' Nick, 'Elequent', and 'Powerful' Bob were excellent. I felt that their sincere objective was to make my life safer out on the roads. The exercise instructions were clear and by the end of the weekend I was sad to say goodbye, even though I passed thanks to them.

Bob gave lots of encourgement which made me feel very comfortable being that I am a total novice. I am staying safe, taking it slow, and keeping shiny side up much to my husbands relief.:) I Now LOVE IT!! Lori Heady

This was an excellent class. Being a new rider, I appreciated how patient and knowledgeable the instructors were. I would recommend this course to anyone who wants to learn how to ride, or is already a rider!

The overall dedication of Bob and his Staff not only teach new riders, but expand the knowledge of semi-experienced riders like myself. No matter how long you have been riding, there is always room for improvement. I highly reccomend this class to anyone!!!
